Spend the day at ARTIS Amsterdam Royal Zoo, the oldest zoo in the Netherlands, located in the center of Amsterdam.

See a variety of animals in the Ape and Bird House, watch giraffes, zebras, and kudus, and walk through a historic park with monuments and old trees.

Visit the Butterfly Pavilion, explore the botanical garden, and stop at a vegetarian restaurant. Learn about California sea lions from a zookeeper, see jaguars up close, and travel through space in the Planetarium. Meet newborn animals and see lions in their new enclosure.

By public transport: Tram 14 stops at ARTIS, close to the main entrance. Tram 7 and 19 stop at Alexanderplein, a ten-minute walk from ARTIS. The nearest metro station is Waterlooplein, it is a ten-minute walk to ARTIS
By car: Parking is past main entrance (Plantage Kerklaan 40) and costs are €16.00. You can obtain an all-day parking ticket at the ARTIS ticket office during opening hours. You can also pay the hourly rate of €6.30 at the parking payment machine in the car park

The aquarium at ARTIS Zoo is closed for refurbishment until further notice
Clean air for all – ARTIS is a smoke-free park
ARTIS grounds are for the most part, accessible to wheelchair, walker and mobility scooter users. Only the entrance to the Japanese Garden is less accessible to wheelchairs
Assistance dogs are permitted, they need to be registered at the ticket office upon presentation of dog identification card showing that the dog has been trained.
