When is the Amsterdam Winter Paradise?
The Amsterdam Winter Paradise has become a tradition in Amsterdam. Every Christmas holiday, the doors of this wonderful winter festival open. In 2026 there will be another edition. The eighth edition of the Amsterdam Winter Paradise will start on 17 December 2026 and last until 2 January 2027.
What activities are there?
This major winter event in Amsterdam offers the ultimate winter experience. The Winter Paradise is bigger and more spacious than ever, featuring an impressive 4,400 m² of ice fun. Enjoy spectacular shows with performances by popular Dutch artists.
Every year, the Amsterdam Winter Paradise is packed with winter activities. From a large indoor and outdoor skating rink to a Ferris wheel, merry-go-round, and cross-country skiing, there’s something for everyone. Indulge in a wide variety of food and drinks from the restaurants and food trucks. Daily live performances by well-known Dutch artists make the winter festival truly unforgettable.
Important: Wearing gloves is mandatory on the ice rink, so make sure to bring yours!
How much does a ticket for the Amsterdam Winter Paradise cost?
To visit the Winter Paradise 2026/2027, you’ll need an admission ticket. To manage visitor flow, Winter Paradise is using arrival time slots this year. This means you’ll select a specific time slot to begin your ultimate winter experience. Once inside, you’re welcome to stay until closing time, but re-entry is not permitted if you leave. Capacity is limited per day and time slot, so be sure to book your tickets early!
With your ticket, all attractions are included, except for fairground games where you can win prizes (such as ball throwing and the shooting gallery), which cost extra.
Ticket prices vary based on your chosen visit date and arrival time, ranging from €24.50 to €32.50. Check the current ticket price for your preferred date below and reserve your time slot with ease today!
Artist programme
The 2026/2027 line-up is out! Every day the Music Stage hosts afternoon and evening shows, and all performances are included in your entrance ticket. Because you buy a ticket for a specific day and arrival time slot, check below when your favourite artist performs and choose an arrival time well before the show. The entrance gate closes one hour before closing time. (Please note that sweatpants aren’t allowed after 18:00).

Children’s programme
During the day the focus is on children and families. From 19 December there is a children’s show on the Music Stage every morning from 10.30 to 11.00 am, with favourites such as Bing, Peppa Pig, Bluey & Bingo, Buurman & Buurman, Woezel & Pip, Fien & Teun and Juf Roos. Please note that these shows are in Dutch. Children up to and including 2 years old get in for free; children aged 3 to 12 get €3 off with a kids ticket, but only for arrival slots up to 2 pm – perfect for the morning shows. There is plenty more for the little ones too, including the children’s skating rink, the Mini Ferris Wheel, Rikki’s Winter Playground and the Snowflake Kids Club.

The Amsterdam Winter Paradise will be open every day from 17 December 2026 until 2 January 2027 from 9.00 am. Important: the attractions and outdoor area close at 22:00. Dress nice for the evening, it’s a party! No sweatpants are allowed from 6pm onwards.

Where is the Amsterdam Winter Paradise held?
The Amsterdam Winter Paradise is held every year in the large halls and outdoor area of the RAI Amsterdam.
How do you travel to the event?
By Car
Parking is possible in the RAI parking garage. If you wish to pay in the car park, you pay € 5.50 per hour, with a maximum of € 35.00 per day. Book your parking place here
By Train
The RAI has its ‘own’ train station, Amsterdam RAI. This station is located a stone’s throw away from the RAI complex and is easily accessible by train from anywhere in the country. Follow the signs for RAI Amsterdam when you leave the station. For more information check the NS Travel Planner at www.ns.nl.
By Metro
Metro 50, 51 and 52 all stop at the Amsterdam Winter Paradise! The stop “Europaplein” (line 52) is right in front of the entrance. You can also get off at RAI station (lines 50 and 51). Tram 4 also stops in front of the RAI. Consult 9292.nl for the best connection from your location.
FAQ Winter Paradise
Amsterdam Winter Paradise is open from 17 December 2026 to 2 January 2027, usually from 9 AM to midnight. Exceptions: closed on 31 December, closing at 11 PM on 20 and 27 December, and opening at 10 AM on 1 January. On 24 and 25 December the après-ski is closed. The attractions and the outdoor area close at 10 PM, and the entrance gate closes one hour before closing time.

The Amsterdam Winter Paradise is for all ages! Children up to and including 2 years old get in for free. No sweatpants are allowed from 6 PM onwards.
Yes, the Amsterdam Winter Paradise is wheelchair accessible.
Wheelchairs cannot be borrowed on location. You should therefore bring your own wheelchair.
Children up to and including 2 years old get in for free. You may bring (bottled) baby food. There are baby changing rooms and pumping rooms on the RAI grounds; ask at the information desk where to find them.

The indoor temperature is around 19 degrees. We do recommend you bring gloves, as they are compulsory at the skating rink. A helmet is recommended and available where you collect your skates.
Only A4-size bags are allowed on the entire event site. Umbrellas and professional cameras are not allowed.
Yes, there are lockers available for a fee. Travel light anyway: only A4-size bags are allowed and umbrellas are not permitted.
Own refreshments, bottles, cans, alcohol, glassware and flammable materials are prohibited at the venue and may not be brought inside.
No, the Amsterdam Winter Paradise is a cashless, pin-only event, so you can only pay with your debit card. If you only have cash, you can buy a cash card for € 1.00 and load your cash onto it. Any remaining credit is non-refundable, so don’t put too much on it at once. Topping up is free. Cash cards are not accepted at the fairground games where you can win prizes.
The activities are included in all entrance tickets, so you no longer have to pay for them separately. You can do all the activities without limits. If you have an arrival time in the evening, you can also use the activities. Just make sure you get inside on time, as all activities and the outdoor area close at 10pm.
Please note that activities where you can win prizes, for example: throwing balls or shooting at the shooting gallery, you have to pay extra for.
