With the Winter Wonder Walk you’ll see all the wonderful things this unique area in Amsterdam has to offer. The whole family will enjoy this route. It lasts from about 45 minutes, but feel free to take your time! There are plenty of shops and café’s, and lots of secret stories and facts to discover. Just enjoy everything you encounter along the way. The wonderful audiotour spoken by Willem de Ridder – the famous Dutch storyteller – really brings the whole area to life.

About the Museum Quarter Amsterdam

The Amsterdam Museum Quarter is home to the three most important museums in the Netherlands: the Rijksmuseum, the Stedelijk Museum and the Van Gogh Museum. It also houses the majestic Concertgebouw and some superb cafés, restaurants and hotels. In the elegant P.C. Hooftstraat and Van Baerlestraat you will find many of the world’s most exclusive fashion, jewellery and other luxury brands. Families with children will also be able to enjoy themselves in the Museum Quarter. With its large grassy open area, the Museumplein offers plenty of room to have a picnic or just relax. The Museum Quarter even has its own indoor swimming pool.

Directions to starting point Winter Walk

The Winter Wonder Walk starts at the Hope Artwork in front of the Rijksmuseum on Museumplein. Parking is available in the Museumplein parking garage. Coming by public transport? Take tram 1, 7 or 19 to stop Spiegelgracht (in front of the museum). Or take tram 2, 5 or 12 to Rijksmuseum (rear of the museum).
