Antique Tram Amsterdam
The conductor welcomes you aboard the tram and invites you to take a seat while the scents of the varnished teak wood transport you to another time. Then the bell rings and the adventure back in time begins. As the driver guides you around the city, the conductor tells you everything you want to know about the historic trams and about Amsterdam’s history.
Historical tram route
From Dam Square, you’ll ride past Westermarkt, Jordaan, Leidseplein, the Rijksmuseum, the Heineken Brewery, Amstel, Artis Zoo, the Resistance Museum, Waterlooplein and Rembrandtplein before arriving back at Dam Square.
Please note that the type of tram and the route driven may be modified due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
During the tour, you will not be able to get off. After about 30 minutes, you will arrive back at Dam Square in the centre of Amsterdam.
Departure times
This year, the historic tram will run on 27, 28, 29 and 30 December from 11am to 5pm. A tram will depart from Dam Square every 20 minutes.

Prices and availability
You will need a special ticket for this tram ride. A public transport ticket is not valid. Below are the prices for a 30-minute tour. Tickets can be bought from the conductor (with cash or by debit card) also a limited number of tickets can be bought online. If the online tickets are sold out ask the conductor if any tickets are still available.
Starting point of the tour
The historic tram departs from Dam Square every 20 minutes on these days. The stop is between Nieuwendijk and Nieuwe Kerk. Address: Dam 6, 1012 NP Amsterdam.
