The Maker Market XL – Christmas Market Amsterdam

From Saturday 19 to Wednesday 23 December 2026, The Maker Market XL turns the Centrale Markthal in Amsterdam-West into a large indoor Christmas market for handmade and locally designed gifts.
What to expect
Up to 150 makers a day sell only work they made or designed themselves: jewellery, ceramics, clothing, prints, interior items, candles, children’s products and food. The line-up changes every day, so each visit is different. The market is fully indoors in a listed 1930s market hall, with live music, workshops, live portrait drawing and a daily programme for children. For food and drinks there are mulled wine, hot chocolate, poffertjes and warm meals.

Tickets
Entry requires a ticket with a time slot (11:00–14:00 or 14:00–17:00, and on Saturday also 17:00–20:00); once inside you can stay as long as you like. Children up to 12 go free. Tickets are sold by the organiser: buy tickets for The Maker Market.

Combine your visit
Make a full Christmas day of it. The Christmas Market on Museumplein (3–27 December) has its own ice rink, and at the RAI you can go skating, tubing and cross-country skiing at Amsterdam Winter Paradise (17 December – 2 January). In the evening, see the city’s artworks from the water on a Light Festival canal cruise.
